Some of Aaron’s work at our Los Angeles firm includes the historic case of Jafa-Bodden vs. Bikram Choudhury. In this case, Aaron helped represent a whistleblower who was suing a celebrity yoga guru, Bikram Choudhury, for sexual harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination.
The case revealed Choudhury’s horrific treatment of women in the workplace. It quickly garnered national and international media attention, inspiring a Netflix documentary on the Bikram yoga community’s rampant sexual abuse. With Aaron’s help, the case concluded with an $8 million jury verdict in favor of the plaintiff.
Aaron’s other work includes a $5 million settlement negotiated on behalf of a contract worker who suffered serious injuries at a Chevron refinery. And after an accomplished UC San Diego professor was struck by a vehicle at a marked crosswalk near campus, Aaron helped secure that professor a $1.7 million settlement. He also resolved a $5 million legal malpractice case, which involved a lawyer who failed to advise their hedge fund client on SEC regulations.
As a result of his work, Aaron has been met with widespread acclaim. He was recently listed in 2021 Super Lawyers® Rising Stars for Civil Litigation, Personal Injury – General, Personal Injury – Products, and Professional Liability in El Segundo. Best Lawyers®: Ones to Watch similarly recognized his legal skill in the 2022 edition.
An active and involved member of the legal community, Aaron holds membership to the American Association for Justice (AAJ), the Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL), the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA), and the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC). He is also a member of the State Bar of California and admitted to the U.S. District Court, Central District of California.
Aaron graduated from San Diego State University with honors, earning his bachelor’s in English. He then earned his law degree at Loyola Law School. During this time, he spent a summer studying environmental and international human rights law in Costa Rica.
When Aaron isn’t in the courtroom, he can be found sharing his passion for surfing by teaching veterans with disabilities, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He also serves as a board member of the Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation, which provides ocean therapy to the USMC Wounded Warrior Battalion-West, veterans from the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center, and even at-risk youth from local shelters.
