Since he first joined our legal team, Attorney Nickerson has obtained over $160 million in compensation for our clients through jury verdicts and settlements, primarily in the following areas of legal practice:
Some of Attorney Nickerson’s most notable legal victories include the $36.1 million verdict achieved for an 11-year-old girl who suffered severe injuries when she was struck by a car as she crossed the street to get to her school bus. He also secured a $3.5 million settlement for a 61-year-old woman injured in a school bus accident, as well as a $7.5 million recovery for a woman seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash that involved the woman’s car, a Los Angeles Metro bus, and a dump truck.
Attorney Nickerson also helped negotiate a $10 million whistleblower settlement with the UC Board of Regents. This concluded a two-month trial in which our firm advocated for a physician who, while serving as chairman of the UCLA Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, witnessed instances of professional misconduct and conflicts of interest, and then faced retaliation after reporting these issues.
These are just a few of the groundbreaking case results achieved by Attorney Nickerson, and he has illustrated how his commitment to the community extends outside the courtroom as well. A few examples include his volunteer work for the LA Law Library’s pro bono program, the free legal consultations he provides to underrepresented community members in need of legal help, and his professional memberships. For instance, he is a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) and a board member of the Young Lawyers Division, part of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL).
