Greene Broillet & Wheeler, LLP and LMU Loyola Law School will be co-sponsoring the National Civil Trial Competition (NCTC) from Nov. 12 to 14, 2021. The competition will take place virtually, with respect to COVID-19 health and safety regulations.

The NCTC is an invitational tournament open to ABA-accredited law schools. To qualify, a history of excellence in either (a) mock trial competitions or (b) the training of law students in litigation skills is required.

In previous years, participating schools have included the following:

  • Baylor Law School
  • Chicago-Kent College of Law
  • Stetson University College of Law
  • Syracuse University College of Law
  • Temple University Beasley School of Law
  • University of Akron School of Law
  • Washington University School of Law, St. Louis

Participating students will be expected to deliver opening statements and closing arguments, as well as perform direct- and cross-examination of both expert and lay witnesses. They must also argue objections correctly under the Federal Rules of Evidence.

The driving mission of the NCTC is to give law students the chance to strengthen and demonstrate their litigation skills.
