Fast & Furious actor Paul Walker died this weekend in a Los Angeles area car accident. Investigators say that Walker was a passenger in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT which crashed into a light pole in Santa Clarita.
The car was being driven by Roger Rodas, who owned a car customization store with Walker. Authorities say that both men were killed at the scene and that the Porsche was engulfed in flames when emergency crews arrived.
The autopsies will be performed tomorrow and CNN reports that investigators are still waiting on dental records to make a positive identification of the men.
Police are investigating whether the men were drag racing at the time of the accident. The crash happened on Hercules Street, which apparently has a reputation for fast drivers.
Paul Walker is perhaps best known for playing Brian O’Conner in the Fast & the Furious movies. He was shooting the seventh installment of the franchise and reportedly had some unfinished scenes at the time of his death.
