GBW’s Browne Greene & Bruce Broillet Named Top CA Plaintiff Lawyers

SANTA MONICA, Ca. (July 15, 2015) – The Los Angeles Daily Journal announced today it’s honoring two of the founding and senior partners of the Santa Monica law firm, Greene Broillet & Wheeler, LLP, Browne Greene and Bruce Broillet as 2015’s Top Plaintiff Lawyers in California.

The Daily Journal published a special supplement honoring the top 25 leading plaintiff attorneys in the state who have demonstrated exemplary trial advocacy skills and shown leadership in the legal community.

Browne Greene is one of the most respected civil trial attorneys in California and the nation for his groundbreaking achievements in the courtroom that have earned him numerous awards and honors.

Mr. Greene is being recognized for many accomplishments including a tumultuous, six-year battle for the ownership of the Bahia Emerald. That lawsuit involved two trials and multiple parties including the country of Brazil. Browne Greene is fighting to secure ownership of the world’s largest emerald for his clients. The Bahia Emerald, weighing in at 840 pounds and worth an estimated $372 million, is considered the biggest uncut emerald ever unearthed.

Bruce Broillet has earned an impeccable reputation for his diverse legal achievement and landmark verdicts and settlements including a $3.3 billion settlement against Big Tobacco on behalf of the County of Los Angeles.

In one of his many high profile cases, Mr. Broillet currently represents Todd McNair against the NCAA regarding the NCAA finding of unethical conduct against McNair while he coached Reggie Bush at USC. The plaintiff won the anti-SLAPP motion in the trial court. The case is currently in the Court of Appeal. The Court of Appeal issued an important published decision denying the NCAA’s attempt to seal documents concerning the case from public view.
