GBW Files Suit Against City of LA

Attorneys from Greene, Broillet & Wheeler, LLP filed a lawsuit against the City of Los Angeles and the LA Department of Water & Power (the largest utility in the country) alleging the LADWP reneged on a multi-million-dollar contract. The suit was filed on behalf of a Marina Del Rey consulting company and alleges that as a result of the LADWP’s conduct, the plaintiff lost business, labor and capital investment and business opportunities.

Attorneys Browne Greene and Mark Quigley represent the company, OFS, which is the creator of e-commerce systems that are designed to assist companies with their internal operations. The LADWP contracted with OFS to use its system, and reportedly realized cost savings of up to $35 million. However, after first agreeing to expand its contract with the company, the utility simply took the item off of its agenda, leading to a loss in the millions of dollars for OFS.
