Bruce Jenner targeted in lawsuit over fatal Malibu car accident

Famed Olympian Bruce Jenner is facing a wrongful death and negligence lawsuit relating to a chain-reaction motor vehicle accident he was involved in in Malibu last February. The tragic collision resulted in the death of an elderly woman.

The deceased victim’s stepchildren are now pursuing civil claims against the Olympian. The lawsuit alleges that Jenner was speeding at the time of the accident. The lawsuit claims that Jenner’s negligence, carelessness and recklessness caused the 69-year-old woman’s death.

An attorney representing the stepchildren says that no one has taken responsibility for the accident. Her children feel obligated to seek justice for their stepmother and reveal the truth about what happened, the lawyer said. He further stated that their negligence and wrongful death lawsuit was the only way they had of seeking justice.

The accident happened last Feb. 7, along the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. The four-car collision resulted in seven injuries and one death. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened after a Toyota Prius stopped in the middle of the Pacific Coast Highway’s northbound lanes of traffic. The deceased driver then struck the Prius from behind with her Lexus sedan. That is when Jenner’s car allegedly rear-ended the Lexus, and pushed it into opposing traffic, where it struck head-on by a Hummer.
